. . . Dun dun dun . . . so locally, there's been a recent break out(apparently?). One of our horses, she's older, 22, and has gastric ulcers, can't eat any hay, and is prone to colic, started showing signs last night of colic. Or that's what I thought when I went to take her back in the mare motel from being outside all day. She extremely unenthusiastically took a treat I had, had her ears pinned back, had her nostrils crinkled up, and didn't even bother moving or nickering when I went to get her. So she wouldn't eat, and we figured she has gas built up, so my sister walked her around, and my mom went and got some banamine. We checked up on her during the night, and she seemed okay enough. This morning she was more enthusiastic, ate a little, then just got worse. Finally called the vet and comes to find out, she has a mild fever and Rhino. She's on antibiotics now. :L We've never had anything like this happen before. (But I'm smart and vaccinated Luna a few months ago). All the other horses are okay, normal temperatures, but of course, I'm nagging at everyone else to vaccinate their horses too. Boo with really odd outbreaks. I don't really care if I get sick, but my horse is a whole other story.
What's with the more frequent outbreaks of strange horse viruses....
I also, finally, got a job (:D) ... so I won't be working on cc much, like lately. Unfun,
